CBD Oil for Anxiety

CBD Oil offers a lot of hope to people looking for natural alternatives for Anxiety.

Anxiety can affect many aspects of someones life.

It can affect their self-esteem, work performance, social life, sex life, their overall physical health, and more.

A lot of prescribed medications on the market have side effects that leave the person feeling worse than they did before they even started the medication. Even though this isn't the case with everyone, for those that are looking for a natural alternative, CBD oil has given them hope.

A small study found that cannabidiol could reduce symptoms of social anxiety in people with social anxiety disorder (SAD). Brain scans of participants revealed changes in blood flow to the regions of the brain linked to feelings of anxiety.

In this study, cannabidiol not only made participants feel better but also changed the way their brains responded to anxiety.

CBD oil for anxiety does complex things to the brain, which encourages relaxation and happiness. Even though CBD, unlike THC, isn’t psychoactive, users do experience a calming effect.

But there’s a science behind where this calm comes from. CBD lowers neurons in the hippocampus region of the brain. When your brain doesn’t produce enough neurons, the hippocampus fires more neurons and this can cause anxiety.

Since CBD prevents the hippocampus from producing neurons and allows fewer but stronger neurons to stay active in the brain it regulates the overall brian function and reduces anxiety.

CBD also activates adenosine receptors, which activates the neurotransmitters dopamine and glutamate.

Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that helps control the brain's reward and pleasure centers.

Glutamate increase leads to increased memory, cognition and heightens our learning senses. Both of these decrease anxiety, increase our levels of happiness and controls our emotions and thoughts.

CBD also activates another major neurotransmitter: Serotonin.

Jose Alexandre Crippa and his colleagues at the University of San Paulo in Brazil and King’s College in London have conducted pioneering research into CBD and the neural correlates of anxiety. At high concentrations, CBD directly activates the 5-HT1A (hydroxytryptamine) serotonin receptor, thereby conferring an anti-anxiety effect.

People who experience anxiety often have trouble sleeping when from post-traumatic stress disorder and this can contribute to an impaired ability to focus and to demonstration of oppositional behaviors.

A 2016 case study explored whether cannabidiol (CBD) could reduce symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and anxiety-provoked sleep disorder for a child who had a history of trauma. The researchers did find that cannabidiol (CBD) in face did reduce the child's anxiety and helped her sleep!

Even though studies are showing hope and testimonies are popping up all over the world about the positive results using CBD for anxiety, people considering CBD oil as a natural alternative should still speak with a doctor to help determine the right treatment for them.
